Ghana is the first African country to lift the FIFA under 20 world cup

Ghana sink Seleção for gold

Ten-man Ghana won the FIFA U-20 World Cup by defeating Brazil in a sudden death penalty shoot-out after the two teams failed to break the deadlock in 120 minutes of football.

The African and South American champions, who had not lost a game during the competition, keep that proud record intact, but at the end of the day, it was the Black Satellites, who followed in the footsteps of Argentina, victors at Canada 2007, in lifting the famous trophy.

Brazil had the better of the early stages and went agonisingly close to taking the lead early on when Giuliano's free-kick was put into the box and Alex Teixeira was inches away from connecting with a header. Giuliano prompted A Seleção once again, playing the ball to Paulo Henrique on the left who crossed for Alan Kardec, but his volley was wide.

Douglas stung the hands of the goalkeeper with a shot from distance, but the major talking point of the first half came in the 37th minute when David Addo was given a straight red card for a foul on Alex Teixeira, after the latter was breaking quickly on the counter attack. While the Belgian believed Addo to be the last man, the Africans protested that both Jonathan Mensah and David Addy had tracked back to cover.

Ghana, who boasted the tournament's most prolific strikeforce in Dominic Adiyiah and Ransford Osei failed to muster a single shot on goal in a stop-start opening 45 minutes, punctuated by no fewer than 17 free-kicks, yet this was not the bruising encounter those statistics may suggest.

Abeiku Quansah had a goalbound shot saved four minutes after the break, but it was a routine stop for Rafael as Brazil did most of the pressing. Alex Teixeira should have done better, but headed wide from Diogo's centre and Alan Kardec had a golden opportunity, but headed straight at Daniel Agyei from Souza's cross.

As the midway point to the second half approached, Ghana had more possession, but still Brazil looked the more dangerous. Rafael Toloi slipped a perfectly-weighted pass for Alan Kardec to latch on to, but he fired wildly into the side netting. The No9 was guilty of missing yet another chance seconds later when he planted a free header from Douglas Costa's cross over the crossbar.

There was no doubt who the 67,814 in the stadium were supporting, as there was a tremendous roar from the home fans whenever their fellow Africans crossed the halfway line and the noise levels increased further when Emmanuel Agyemang-Badu's deflected shot forced Rafael to make a fine, low save to his right.

As the half wore on, the Black Satellites seemed to increasingly get into their rhythm of playing with ten men and their attacking forays became more and more regular, while at the back they defended with tremendous spirit. They earned the right to take the tie into extra time, but there was still drama to come in the latter stages of the 90 when Andre Ayew and Rafael Toloi clashed for the ball, the latter requiring serious treatment.

With Rogerio having made all three of his substitutions, there was a distinct possibility that Brazil would have been forced to play extra time with ten men. Yet despite running with a noticeable limp, the defender continued heroically to maintain the numerical advantage for his team.

The South Americans had a glorious chance to take the lead six minutes into extra time, but Agyei pulled off a world-class save to deny Maicon, who still had his hands cupped to his mouth in disbelief for a full minute afterwards.

Agyei frustrated Wellington Junior in the second period of extra time, with a smart stop at his near post, but with some players having played 11 and a half hours during this competition, the pace of the game decreased - and the game limped into a penalty shoot-out.

That is when the fireworks began. First, Alan Kardec and Ayew and Giuliano and Inkoom traded successful penalties, but Brazil got the first advantage after seeing Douglas Costa score and Jonathan Mensah miss. Souza then saw his penalty saved, but Bright Addae failed to reduce the deficit when his strike from 12 yards was comfortably claimed by Rafael.

That left Maicon with the chance of winning it for Brazil, but he blasted the chance high over the bar. Adiyiah kept his cool to take the shoot-out into sudden death. Then Agyei denied Alex Teixeira before Agyemang-Badu made the victory certain with the decisive spot-kick.

Bongo calls for 'elite renewal'

Ali Ben Bongo has been sworn in as Gabon's new president two months after his disputed election.

"I want a Gabon where the elites circulate and are renewed," said the son of Gabon's long-time leader Omar Bongo in his inauguration speech.

The opposition cried foul after Mr Bongo was declared the winner, sparking protests in which several people died.

But on Monday, the Constitutional Court dismissed the opposition challenges to the official results.

In his speech, Mr Bongo also said he wanted an end to corruption and injustice.

The ceremony was attended by several presidents from Central and West Africa.

Nine opposition candidates had called for the vote to be annulled, arguing that there was widespread fraud.

The court ruled that Mr Bongo had won the election with 41.79% of the vote.

Veteran opposition leader Pierre Mamboundou came second with 25.64%, followed by former Interior Minister Andre Mba Obame on 25.33%.

Gabon is sub-Saharan Africa's fourth biggest oil producer and Africa's second biggest wood exporter, although most of its 1.4 million people live in poverty.

August's election was called after the death of Omar Bongo, one of the world's richest men, who had ruled the nation for four decades.

My Favorite Actor Patrick Swayze dead at 57 after cancer battle

Actor Patrick Swayze dead at 57 after cancer battle

My best actor of all time is dead, Patrick Swayze, may your soul rest in perfect peace!

Hollywood actor Patrick Swayze, a symbol of youthful vitality in the 1980s' movie world, has died at 57 after a protracted battle with cancer, his spokeswoman Annett Wolf said in a statement.

'Patrick Swayze passed away peacefully today (Monday) with family at his side after facing the challenges of his illness for the last 20 months,' Wolf said Monday.
He had publicly battled pancreatic cancer, continuing to act in the cable television series 'The Beast' while eschewing painkillers that might have impaired his performance.
Swayze went public about his cancer in March 2008, saying that it was likely that he would die within two years.

He was best known for his role as a dance instructor in the 1987 romance 'Dirty Dancing', which he followed up with another blockbuster romance, 'Ghost', in 1990, after which he was chosen by People magazine as the 'sexiest man alive'.

Despite his heartthrob status, he was married to Lisa Niemi from 1975 until his death and devoted much of his time to raising thoroughbred horses on his remote California ranch.

Woman 'Pregnant' With 12 Babies Exposed as Fraud

Wednesday, August 19, 2009
http://www.foxnews.com/story/0,2933,540520,00.html

Just days after a Tunisian woman claimed she was pregnant with a record-breaking 12 babies – the 34-year-old has been exposed as a fraud, the U.K.’s Daily Telegraph reported Wednesday.

The woman, who has not yet been named, reportedly told doctors in her hometown of Gafsa that she was due to give birth to duodecaplets later this month. She said she conceived the babies following fertility treatments, after suffering a number of miscarriages.

But an investigation by the Tunisian Health Ministry later revealed that she has "psychological problems and is unlikely even to be pregnant," the Telegraph reported.

"Our staff interviewed her at length, but even her pregnancy appears to be in her imagination," a government spokesman said. "She's claiming to be nine months pregnant with six boys and six girls, but there's absolutely nothing about her appearance which indicates this."

The official said the woman has also refused to undergo a medical examination and is now reportedly in hiding.

While experts confirmed the extraordinary pregnancy was possible, they said it carried "colossal" risks.

In an interview Tuesday, Dr. Manny Alvarez, managing health editor of FOXNews.com, who has in fact seen a woman pregnant with nine babies, said the likelihood of a woman carrying 12 babies to term is very slim.

"When you get to a pregnancy with that many multiples, often some of them spontaneously die," Alvarez said. "Anything more than five babies becomes a very high-risk pregnancy. The rates of premature labor for multiples are astronomical," he added.

Nadya Suleman of Bellflower, Calif., currently holds the record for the longest-living octuplets in history.

A WIFE IS PREGNANT WITH TWELVE BABIES IN HER WOMB

A new world record for multiple births is about to be produced, as an unidentified woman is pregnant with twelve babies in her womb.
A WIFE is pregnant with TWELVE babies, it was claimed last night.
The unnamed mum-to-be - a teacher - is said to be defying medical advice by vowing to give birth to ALL six girls and six boys.
If she succeeds, her brood - conceived after fertility treatment - will smash the world record for multiple births.
The tots' father, identified only as Marwan, is backing her. He beamed: "In the beginning we thought that my wife would give birth to twins.
"But more foetuses were discovered. Our joy increased with the growing number."
He said his wife was determined to have a natural birth - but doctors had told her it was IMPOSSIBLE.
British fertility experts warned the pregnancy in the Tunisian oasis town of Gafsa carried "colossal" risks.
All nine babies born to the current record-holder - an Australian mum in 1971 - died in Sydney.
Shocked Dr Mark Hamilton, of the British Fertility Society, said: "Twelve babies seems extraordinary."
The mum-to-be, who is being constantly monitored by experts in her home country, is said to have insisted she is "feeling fine".
She was also "looking forward to hugging her six boys and six girls".
The wife had sought help after previously suffering the anguish of several miscarriages.
It was not clear if she had IVF treatment or an alternative procedure called ovulation induction treatment.
IVF would have meant several eggs being fertilised outside the womb then implanted. OIT uses hormones to stimulate the ovaries so they produce eggs that can be fertilised the natural way.
When multiple eggs are involved, UK women opting for either procedure are offered the option of "selective reduction".
Some of the foetuses are aborted, so those left have a better chance of survival.
This also reduces the risk to the mother.
Stunned

The Tunisian government is said to have pledged to do all it can to care for the mother and her babies.
Her pregnancy comes seven months after Californian mum Nadya Suleman stunned the world by delivering eight healthy tots.
And in May Nuala Conway, 26, from Dunamore in Co Tyrone, gave birth to sextuplets - four girls and two boys.
Sadly one of the girls later died.

So gr-eight to be home, mum

OCTOMUM Nadya Suleman clasps six of her eight babies to her bosom in the first picture of her brood at home together.
The single mum swaddled 11-week-old boys Jeremiah, Isaiah, Macai and Noah in blue blankets and girls Nariah and Maliah in pink ones at her parents' pad in La Habra, California.
Other sons Josiah and Jonah were still in hospital.
Nadya, 33, who used a sperm donor to get pregnant, faced a public backlash after it emerged she lived off the state and already had six kids before the latest eight.

I’m not politician neither do I have any interest in politics, but let’s take a look into actualities,

This time around let’s talk about Gabon,

Who knows the country called Gabon?

Gabon is a country in west central Africa sharing borders with the Gulf of Guinea to the west, Equatorial Guinea to the northwest, and Cameroon to the north, with the Republic of the Congo curving around the east and south. Its size is almost 270,000 km² with an estimated population of 1,500,000. The capital and largest city is Libreville, it was known as cote west during the ancient days,
Since its independence from France on August 17 1960, the Republic has been ruled by three presidents. In the early 1990s, Gabon introduced a multi-party system and a new democratic constitution that allowed for a more transparent electoral process and reformed many governmental institutions.
The small population together with abundant natural resources and foreign private investment have helped make Gabon one of the most prosperous countries in the region, with the highest HDI (Human Development Index) in Sub-Saharan Africa.

The three presidents that has ruled Gabon are as follows:
Léon Mba 1960 – 1967
Omar Bongo Ondinba 1967 – 2009 (died on power on the 8th June 2009)
Rose Francine Rogombé (interim president) June 2009 till next election, estimated for September 2009

Now who will be Gabon’s foruth president?
Follow the news below as to see how it’s going till it’s declaration.

N/B, All news may be in French and occassionally English language.

White House Press Office • Press Release

Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender Pride Month, 2009

By the President of the United States of America: A Proclamation
June 1, 2009

Forty years ago, patrons and supporters of the Stonewall Inn in New York City resisted police harassment that had become all too common for members of the lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender (LGBT) community. Out of this resistance, the LGBT rights movement in America was born. During LGBT Pride Month, we commemorate the events of June 1969 and commit to achieving equal justice under law for LGBT Americans.

LGBT Americans have made, and continue to make, great and lasting contributions that continue to strengthen the fabric of American society. There are many well-respected LGBT leaders in all professional fields, including the arts and business communities. LGBT Americans also mobilized the Nation to respond to the domestic HIV/AIDS epidemic and have played a vital role in broadening this country's response to the HIV pandemic.

Due in no small part to the determination and dedication of the LGBT rights movement, more LGBT Americans are living their lives openly today than ever before. I am proud to be the first President to appoint openly LGBT candidates to Senate-confirmed positions in the first 100 days of an Administration. These individuals embody the best qualities we seek in public servants, and across my Administration -- in both the White House and the Federal agencies -- openly LGBT employees are doing their jobs with distinction and professionalism.

The LGBT rights movement has achieved great progress, but there is more work to be done. LGBT youth should feel safe to learn without the fear of harassment, and LGBT families and seniors should be allowed to live their lives with dignity and respect.
My Administration has partnered with the LGBT community to advance a wide range of initiatives. At the international level, I have joined efforts at the United Nations to decriminalize homosexuality around the world. Here at home, I continue to support measures to bring the full spectrum of equal rights to LGBT Americans. These measures include enhancing hate crimes laws, supporting civil unions and Federal rights for LGBT couples, outlawing discrimination in the workplace, ensuring adoption rights, and ending the existing "Don't Ask, Don't Tell" policy in a way that strengthens our Armed Forces and our national security. We must also commit ourselves to fighting the HIV/AIDS epidemic by both reducing the number of HIV infections and providing care and support services to people living with HIV/AIDS across the United States.

These issues affect not only the LGBT community, but also our entire Nation. As long as the promise of equality for all remains unfulfilled, all Americans are affected. If we can work together to advance the principles upon which our Nation was founded, every American will benefit. During LGBT Pride Month, I call upon the LGBT community, the Congress, and the American people to work together to promote equal rights for all, regardless of sexual orientation or gender identity.

NOW, THEREFORE, I, BARACK OBAMA, President of the United States of America, by virtue of the authority vested in me by the Constitution and laws of the United States, do hereby proclaim June 2009 as Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, and Transgender Pride Month. I call upon the people of the United States to turn back discrimination and prejudice everywhere it exists.
IN WITNESS WHEREOF, I have hereunto set my hand this first day of June, in the year of our Lord two thousand nine, and of the Independence of the United States of America the two hundred and thirty-third.
BARACK OBAMA

Will South Africa Be Ready For The 2010 World Cup?

Goal.com World View:
Will South Africa Be Ready For The 2010 World Cup?
Goal.com’s international team of editors have had their say on the 2010 World Cup hosts South Africa, as they gear up to welcome seven teams for the Confederations Cup in two weeks.
2 Jun 2009 13:00:01

During June and July of next year the global community will be focused on South Africa, as the African powerhouse hosts thirty two of the world’s best national teams in the greatest show on earth. Goal.com’s editors from all over the planet have given their thoughts on the host nation and its capacity to host. The editors were asked the following four questions:

1) Do you think South Africa will be prepared to host the World Cup in 2010?

2) What are your major concerns for next year's event?

3) What is the general sentiment in your territory towards the World Cup being hosted in Africa?

4) Would you personally go to the World Cup next year if you were able, if no - why not?
My own response:

CJ-1) Yes, South Africa will be ready to host the next year world cup event, they showed a different on drawing ceremony, I think the world have to give Africa the chance to prove themselves instead of always underrating and demoralizing them, Nigeria is an African country and has hosted the world events like under 17.

CJ-2) Traffic is going to be a problem; robbing and kidnapping may be the highest risk on safety, same thing happens everywhere and are cared of during similar events, if not there would no Olympic game Pekin 2008, so that will not stop South Africa to host the event.

CJ-3) In my area, people are happy to see that the event will be held in Africa, for the very first time, Africans are in love of football and I rate football as the most energetic event in Africa, we all feel like gathering down to South Africa to live the event.

CJ-4) Yes! If I’d be able I’ll go, Why not if not?

Artist's Impression of Soccer City 2010 Final venue - South Africa

Soccer City Stadium
Soccer City (also know as the FNB Stadium) is earmarked to host both the opening and final matches of the 2010 Soccer World Cup. Built in 1987, Soccer City has played host to some of the most memorable matches in South Africa’s soccer history. Soccer City is set to be enlarged from its present seating capacity of 80 000 to 94 700 for soccer’s showcase event. Some significant changes will be made to the present two-tiered bowl for the World Cup: the upper tier will be extended around the stadium, while an encircling roof will be added. New changing rooms will be developed, and new floodlights installed.

No Circumstance In Life Is The Worst!

Perfect life is nowhere to be found, life is all about struggling, no condition is the best and no other is the worst, when you think your situation is the worst, go out there and you will see people who would feel in a paradise being in your shoes.

When I think of those facts:
An old man was sick somewhere and visited a doctor, after the doctor’s prescriptions ask the doctor, is there no means of changing my sickness with a fairer one, as to reduce the prescriptions?
The doctor was astounded and then present 3 different sickness for the man to chose among, which included Aids, leprosy and partial stroke, the man picked up his working stick and ran away forgetting he came with a sickness.
But however these are issues somewhere.

A man was crying over his hard marketing until another man came pleading him to allow him to stay there with him, as to enable him see something doing in his life, he started praising God for granting him the opportunity to own a shop, whether the goods are sold or not.

If you think life is too bad that you are unhappy, look at them, what do you think of them?

If you think your salary is low or you earn insufficient, how about her?

If you think you don't have many friends or so down like having no one... have your say!

When you feel like giving up, think of this man

Have a lot to do in the office and you think you suffer a lot in life, do you suffer as much as he does?

If you complain about your transport system, how about them?

Yes the society is often unjust, even the neighborhood, but If your society is unfair to you, how about her?

Enjoy life how it is and as it comes Things are worse for others and is a lot better for us JThere are many things in your life that will catch your eyebut only a few will catch your heart.... pursue those...
